Yesterday I skipped the gym. I didn’t feel really guilty, though – because out of all the sports psychology literature I’ve read before, not unless you’re an athlete, it’s not okay to stress your body too much when you’ve been dormant for too long. It’s too sudden for your body to take. In any case, I only got stronger after a day’s rest.
Today the most amazing thing happened. My BlackBerry phone service does not receive signal since noon. I don’t want to say what’s the service provider, but I’ve checked up on tweets and people are experiencing it too. Oh gosh. I still don’t get signal up till now. I wonder how do I live without BlackBerry Messenger (from this point onward I won’t say ‘BlackBerry Messenger’ anymore. Few months ago I thought if I say BBM nobody would understand. Apparently now everybody uses it already and not just in Indonesia)
I lifted various weights today, but mostly just 2kg free weights but I do each move at about 35 reps. I did heavier weights on leg exercises instead, saving my energy for this butt. Some light abs exercises and then I jumped on the ellipticals.
Today my elliptical workouts does not consist of 2-minute or more intervals like I’ve been doing. I warmed up for 5 minutes at level resistance 6, which is higher than usual. Then for every minute, I change the resistance level. I went up to resistance 21, then down to 6, and to 22, down 7, 21, to 8, 22, 8, 21, 8, 23, 9, 21, 9, 22, 7, and then lastly, at 25 for 2 minutes till I finish the whole 25-minute workout.
Then I jumped on the treadmill. Again throughout the workout I’m at an incline of 1.0. Warmed up at speed 4.5 for 3 minutes, then run at 6.5 for 3 minutes or so, then go down to 6 for a minute before I jumped on to 7.5, then come back down to 6.2. Then I stayed there for a few minutes before I go up to 6.6, then jumped to 8.2, and down to 6.2 again for a couple of minutes. Then I go up again to 6.6, then come back down to 6.0, and then to 4.1 and walked uphill at incline 8.5. Then I decrease the incline down again to 1.0, and ran at 6.6 for a good few minutes, before I jumped on to 8.9 speed for a minute or so, and come back down to 6.2 for a couple of minutes. And then I go up to speed 9.0 for a good one minute and come back down to 6.2 for 5 minutes or so. And then I walk uphill again at incline 13 and walking at speed 4.0, slowly down to 6.5, slowly down to 3.0, then to 0 incline and walking at speed 5.0. And that’s also a 25-minute workout.
Honestly this is the first time since the whole week I’ve hit the gym again that running feels really good. This is one of those times when running makes you realize that your mind is limitless – when you have a focus in mind, you have a direction to go, your body knows not pain, no matter how much resistance there is around you that’s pulling you down. Your mind can take you anywhere you want to go, but your body has to take it there with style (haha). With good form and good posture, slow and steady breathing patterns, you’ll be wherever you want in time.
Since my BB is having troubles receiving signal, I can’t send my narcissistic photo for you today. Maybe tomorrow, if the phone service ever gets fixed. I’m preparing a new editorial and the logos I had to do for my other boss. At night I’m going to have a movie date night with my lovely man. Last night, we went to the place where he first asked me to be his girlfriend. We still feel that ticklish feeling inside. I just want to giddy up. I keep stealing kisses in public when I think no one else is watching. I think my hormone is going wild, because I’m scheduled to have my period at around this time. Seriously. Or am I just that cheeky?
